CMH Specialist Hospital in Seremban has officially opened its new six-storey multi-level car park, providing an additional 310 parking bays.
With the additional RM10 million facility, the hospital now has a total of 450 parking spaces.
Negri Sembilan Chinese Maternity Association president Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock said the initiative is part of their long-term effort to meet the challenges of a changing healthcare environment and ensure the hospital remains financially sustainable for the next 50 years
“In line with its community-focused mission, the parking is free for patients, families and visitors, addressing a longstanding challenge of insufficient parking that had caused frustration for many,” he said.
He said insufficient parking is a common challenge faced by many healthcare institutions locally.
“Searching for a parking space within a limited area often creates stress and anxiety for patients and their families, leaving them feeling frustrated and helpless,” he added in his speech at the opening ceremony of the new six-storey multi-level car park block.
The RM10 million facility occupies 18,000 square feet and, together with existing parking, eliminates previous parking constraints.
Lee thanked Chung Hua High School and SJKC Kuo Min for temporarily allowing the use of their compounds throughout this period as temporary car parks.
“This has truly eased our difficulties of having insufficient carparks previously,” he said.
This year, the hospital will commence the second phase of its expansion, which is the construction of a 10-storey integrated medical block.
The existing Block A and Block C are expected to be demolished from April to July. “Construction of the new medical block will begin tentatively in September, and we expect the project to be completed by June 2029,” said Lee.
He said the new block will expand specialist services, increase bed and clinic capacity, enhance medical technology, and strengthen overall hospital capability, setting a cornerstone for the hospital's next century of service.
Lee also reaffirmed CMH Specialist Hospital's commitment to improving healthcare quality, upgrading facilities, streamlining operations, strengthening patient experience, and fulfilling social responsibilities. – March 14, 2026
