Volodymyr Zelensky burst out laughing at a CNN reporter’s final question to him.
On Wednesday (12 August), Nick Paton Walsh, CNN’s chief international security correspondent, spoke to the Ukrainian President in Kyiv on what his after-war plans might look like.
For his final question, Mr Walsh pointed to a statue behind them and asked Mr Zelensky what it was, with the journalist likening it to an “elephant with a cold”.
The Ukrainian president started chuckling and explained it was part of a historic building. Unable to contain his laughter, he told Mr Walsh: “Thank you very much. You gave me some moment to relax.”
