Embarking on a culinary expedition, we ascended Naza Tower's heights, seeking a lunch spot for our upcoming workshop.
The 50th-floor vista unveiled the majestic KL Twin Towers and a skyline reminiscent of Manhattan, a spectacle sure to awe our out of town guests.
Regrettably, accommodations for our party of 20 with a matching view proved elusive.

Undeterred, we turned our focus to the fare. Among the uninspiring spread, the seafood linguini stood out. Opting for this tantalizing dish, three of us were joined by a lone soul who chose the avocado salad.
The culinary parade commenced, boasting impeccable presentation. The linguini, adorned with three chilled king prawns and petite shelled clams, exuded a robust garlicky and spicy essence.
Yet, the overall execution left room for improvement, warranting a respectable B for the chef's efforts.
As we silently indulged, a sudden exclamation pierced the air: "Eee, what's this? It resembles a cockroach's leg!" Our lady companion deftly extracted the offending morsel with her utensils, revealing an unexpected twist.
Summoning the manager, we presented our peculiar find. Upon inspection, he hurriedly retreated to the kitchen, returning moments later with an explanation. Contrary to our initial alarm, it was not a cockroach appendage but rather a soft shell crab—a fact that did little to assuage our skepticism, given the crab's miniature proportions.
Our companion, understandably repulsed, promptly called for a Grab and made her exit, refusing to pay for the unsettling salad.
The manager, seeking to make amends, offered a dessert on the house, which arrived in the form of coconut ice cream atop a curious assemblage of frozen cendol, resting on a hard, greenish pancake and sprinkled with chopped black cincau.
Not only did this confection fail to charm visually, but its taste left much to be desired, marking it as the most unappetizing dessert in my culinary chronicles of the past three years.
Alas, the restaurant on the 50th floor of Naza Tower, despite its breathtaking view, fell short in the realm of gastronomy.
Thus, we relocated our luncheon to Elements on the 40th floor of Ilham Tower. While the vista may not have been as expansive, the promise of superior fare at one-third the price was a tempting alternative.
