England great Ashley Cole says he was convinced about joining Birmingham City by the club's new owners.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender Cole has joined Birmingham as manager Wayne Rooney's assistant coach.
"With the new owners and the new philosophy, I felt that it was something I could not ignore," he told the club's website.
"I look forward to working here and will give everything for the club."
Cole has previously had coaching assignments with Chelsea and Everton.
