Former England star Joe Cole has questioned the attitude of Aston Villa's players.
The Midlands club were surprisingly beaten in the Europa Conference League group stages on Thursday.
After a 3-2 loss to Legia Warsaw, Unai Emery's players were criticized by former Chelsea and West Ham star Cole.
"It was all attitude problems," he told TNT Sports.
"I say that in the kindest possible way, they just weren't at it.
"I thought Villa would go on and just take control of the game but then they just kept being lackadaisical. It just shows you when you don't do the basics right, it can cost you.
"There was no control in the game. They came out and if anything, the sort of fire went out of the game a little bit, but it suited Legia more when it should have suited Villa as soon as the fire came out of it they should have got their players, (Youri) Tielemans should have started getting on the ball, started probing, getting more into the game but it just went down.
"There wasn't enough vibrancy and the substitutions didn't bring anything, so overall a disappointing night but it's a little kick up the backside. Let's go back to Villa Park and start our European campaign."
