College student dies after motorcycle plunges 21 metres from DASH flyover

A 19-YEAR-OLD college student was killed after his motorcycle skidded and plunged 21 metres off an elevated ramp on the Damansara–Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) yesterday morning.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, confirmed the fatal crash occurred at 10.40am at the 1/B 0.5 off-ramp, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.

“The motorcyclist, riding a Yamaha 135LC, was travelling from Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari and was believed to have lost control while negotiating a bend. He collided with the flyover divider before falling 21 metres onto a grassy area along Persiaran Pulau Angsa,” he said in a statement.

Police are appealing for eyewitnesses to assist in the investigation and have urged anyone with information to contact Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (BSPT) investigating officer, Inspector Nur Iqmal Maisarah Azman, at 017-2836851.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

This is the second fatal accident at the same ramp in under a month. On 26 July, a 23-year-old man died in a similar incident when his motorcycle is believed to have veered off the same flyover, also falling from a height of 21 metres. - August 24, 2025
