COLUMBIA Group has expanded its strategic partnership with Zhejiang Seaport Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. (ZSFL) after being appointed to manage three newbuilding Aframax tankers.
Under the agreement, Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM) Singapore will provide full technical management for the three vessels, which are currently under construction.
CSM Singapore will oversee crew management, technical operations, compliance, and overall performance once the shipyards deliver the vessels.
The appointment marks the next stage of cooperation between the two companies, following a memorandum of understanding signed last year.
“We are delighted to be expanding our current working relationship with the impending delivery of these new vessels,” said Demetris Chrysostomou, deputy CEO of Columbia Group. “Our focus will be on ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operations, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering consistent, efficient performance across the three vessels.”
The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Chrysostomou and Chen Jun, chairman and general manager of ZSFL.
The move increases Columbia Group’s managed fleet in the tanker segment and advances ZSFL’s strategy of expanding its portfolio of modern tonnage alongside international partners. CIH
