Comelec to test vote counting machines for Bangsamoro polls

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) will hold simulation tests on June 27 for the automated election system (AES) that will be used for the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE).

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the simulation would be held on Saturday in two areas in the region.

"We will have our simulation activity. We will test our voting machines and transmission devices in Tawi-Tawi and Maguindanao del Norte," he said during the Stakeholders Walkthrough of the Data Center for the BPE in Makati City on Monday.

Actual voters will cast ballots while the Electoral Board members will administer the use of the voting machines on Saturday.

"We will also test the transmission of election results from the precincts to the Comelec servers," added Garcia.

The ballots will be printed starting next month at the National Printing Office in Quezon City, he said in a separate interview.

Other forms for the Sept. 14 polls are also being printing, Garcia said.

These are the election day computerized voters' list, voters information sheet, training ballots and posted computerized voters' list.
