Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the Sabah Government has set up a special committee to tackle labour issues in the State.
“Labour issue is one of the issues faced by the country, and recently, we even heard about the declining hiring of foreign labourers, especially for the plantation sector,” he said at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Monday.
“In Sabah, we set up a special committee to handle this labour issue, including raw materials that are hard to obtain now.”
If these issues are not handled, he said, it would affect the State’s economic growth, especially the plantation and construction sectors.
To this end, he said, the Sabah Government will look into these issues seriously.
