Kota Kinabalu: A 31-year-old labourer was fined RM3,000 or three months jail by the Magistrate’s Court here Friday for committing mischief on someone else’s car.

Jamal Abdul Gaed pleaded guilty before High Court Senior Assistant Registrar Romario Jonoi, who sat as a Magistrate, to cutting the car alarm and lamp wiring at the front passenger seat area of a Perodua Kancil belonging to Ridzuwan Shah at 11.31pm on Aug 9 in front of a house at Peringkat 3, Lorong Kali, Kg Likas.

The charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between one year and five year or with fine or both, on conviction.

Earlier, the court was informed by the prosecution that Jamal was caught by the complainant who found that his car was broken into.

Phillistins Emmanuel Lajumin, 37, the treasurer of Karyawan Perkasa Seni Sabah (Perkasa Seni), was accused of misusing the money belonging to the organisation between January 2022 and February of the same year in Kg Likas.

Phillistins claimed trial to the charge under Section 403 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between six months and five years and whipping and liability of a fine, on conviction.

The court set Sept 18 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on a bail of RM2,000 in two sureties.
