PETALING JAYA, Oct 27 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has received 108 reports of dengue fever dengue in areas under its administration as of the 42nd epidemiological week.
Deputy Mayor Datuk Aznan Hassan said this figure represents a six per cent increase compared to the previous week when there were 115 cases.
“This brings the cumulative number of dengue cases to 4,344, with no reported deaths so far,” he said during the council’s full meeting at MBPJ’s headquarters yesterday.
MBPJ has undertaken various control and prevention efforts to address dengue, including fogging, gotong-royong campaigns, and larva destruction.
“However, these efforts require cooperation from all quarters. Therefore, we recommend the public take at least 10 minutes weekly to search for and eliminate any Aedes breeding sites discovered,” Aznan said.
