Como signing Cesc Fabregas admits he urged Barcelona to sign Aurelien Tchouameni.
Cesc played with Tchouameni at AS Monaco, who has since left for Real Madrid.
Former Barca midfielder Cesc said: "I spoke with people from Barça to sign him, he seemed like a great player for the future.
"I know Tchouaméni very well, but he couldn't be signed financially.
"I gave my opinion to another former team and in the end he went to the 'enemy' club. You have to take advantage of market opportunities."
Cesc also commented on the prospect of PSG star Lionel Messi returning to Barca.
"He has one year left in Paris. I would love it. It is a dream that the club and all the fans have. Football is very capricious. I speak to you as a fan."
