The BJP organised a workers’ convention at Vipasha Sadan here today, where senior party leaders launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in HP over issues related to corruption, economic management, unemployment and governance.

The event was attended by BJP national vice-president Saudan Singh as the chief guest. Other leaders included BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal, state general secretary Payal Vaidya, MLAs Anil Sharma, Inder Singh Gandhi, Puran Chand and former mayor Virender Bhatt, along with a large number of party workers and supporters.

The BJP national vice-president alleged that the state government led by CM Sukhu was the “most corrupt and ineffective government” in the history of Himachal Pradesh. He claimed that within three-and-a-half years, the state had been pushed towards economic instability, administrative disorder and stalled development.

Bindal criticised the Sukhu government for increasing financial burden on common people through higher transport fares, water bills and taxes. He alleged deterioration in law and order and closure of public institutions across the state.
