PENAMPANG: Former Penampang MP Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin claims that more people are realising coastal reservoirs are a viable solution to Sabah’s water woes compared to conventional dams.
The Upko Deputy President said coastal reservoirs are neither a novelty nor a curiosity from his seven years of active pursuit on the matter with the relevant authorities.
“It is a solution for water supply shortages that have been constructed in China, South Korea, Hong Kong and other countries.
“Developed countries around the world have been decommissioning their dams at the end of the lifespan and moved away from developing and construction new dams due to its destructive nature towards the environment.
