THREE construction companies and a Malaysian woman were fined by the Sessions Court in Kuala Terengganu today after pleading guilty to charges of employing or harbouring undocumented foreign nationals at their respective premises in August.
Judge Nazlyza Mohamad Nazri handed down varying fines after each accused admitted to offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63.
In the first case, Siti Nor Aisyah Ismail, 24, was fined RM15,000 or three months’ imprisonment in default, for allowing three Bangladeshi men who had violated the terms of their work passes to live and work at a boat manufacturing facility under her control in Kampung Pulau Serai, Dungun.
In the second case, Nadi Construction Sdn Bhd was fined RM20,000 for employing two Myanmar nationals without valid permits at the upgrading project site of the Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Sports Complex in Dungun on 10 August.
ASN Mall Enterprise was fined RM5,000 for allowing a Myanmar national without valid documentation to reside at its construction site in Kampung Gong Cengal, Kemasik on 20 August.
In the final case, Framepersecond Sdn Bhd was fined RM10,000 for housing and employing two undocumented Bangladeshi nationals at the Phase 2 development site of the NIOSH East Coast Regional Centre in Kerteh, Kemaman, on 19 August.
The prosecutions were conducted by the Immigration Department’s Prosecution Unit. None of the accused were represented by legal counsel. - October 9, 2025
