A container fell from a speeding trailer in Port Klang, causing major traffic congestion but no injuries, with police investigating the driver.

SHAH ALAM: A container fell off a speeding trailer in Port Klang today, causing significant traffic congestion along Jalan Kem.

South Klang district police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey confirmed the noon incident resulted in no casualties or damage to other vehicles.

Initial investigations indicate the trailer was speeding, which caused the container to detach and fall onto the road.

Other vehicles on the route managed to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Checks on the 30-year-old male driver found he tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

Lim warned commercial vehicle drivers against reckless driving, stating such behaviour endangers others and will lead to stern action.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

A video of the incident had earlier gone viral on social media.
