
Tuaran: Region Four Marine Police seized contraband cigarettes worth RM105,600 in a raid at Kampung Bolong Baru, here, on Friday.
Its Commander, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Ariffin, said the operation was carried out by a team of Kota Kinabalu officers and personnel through Aidilfitri Special Ops at 8.50pm.
He said when the raid was carried out, the team was patrolling the village area and spotted a pile of boxes near a premises.
“As a result of further investigation, the team found various types of contraband cigarettes confiscated under the Customs Act 1967.
