
KOTA MARUDU: Some 305 boxes of contraband liquor worth RM88,624.80 were found hidden in a grocery warehouse in Kampung Taka, Pitas, last Sunday.
Kota Marudu District Police Chief Supt Zairolnizal Ishak said a police team raided the warehouse connected to a supermarket at 3.30pm and seized the liquor of various brands with unpaid duties.
He said a 35-year-old local, believed to be the caretaker of the warehouse, was also arrested.
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967.
