Kota Kinabalu: A 38-year-old contractor claimed trial to cheating a woman over a construction of a house.
Narvell De Abril A Gabi made the plea before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin after the charge was read to him
He is accused of cheating one Marysia Maklin Abdullah, 63, by deceiving the latter on the agreement to build a house and caused the latter to bank in RM52,000 into Lompok Builder account which belonged to Narvell.
The offence allegedly took place 12.30pm on Nov 26, 2021 at the Starbucks Café of Kota Kinabalu International Airport, here.

Read more Narvell was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between one and 10 years, and liable to a fine and whipping, on conviction.
The court set Oct 22 this year for mention and offered Narvell bail of RM3,000 in a local surety.
Inspector Alia Nuurlysa Adnan prosecuted while counsel Sylvester Kuan defended Narvell.
