CONVERGE ICT Solutions Inc. on Wednesday said it would be raising internet for its FiberX customers to support Filipino households grappling with rising fuel and household costs and limited mobility.

In a statement, the broadband service provider said it was increasing speeds by 50 Mbps for flagship plans at no additional cost from April 1 to April 30, 2026.

The move comes as elevated fuel prices continue to strain household budgets, prompting more Filipinos to work, study, and access essential services from home.

“This initiative aims to empower customers to stay productive, connected, and informed as more Filipinos choose — or are compelled — to stay at home,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and co-founder of Converge.

Uy said the company’s initiative was also in response to the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Information and Communications Secretary Henry Aguda to help ease the burden of rising oil prices on consumers.

“With faster, more reliable internet access, we are enabling Filipinos to continue working, studying, running businesses, and staying connected with loved ones without disruption,” he added.

The company said the temporary speed boost would improve video conferencing, downloads and streaming quality while also enhancing access to telehealth, e-commerce, digital banking, and government platforms.

It added that the initiative formed part of a broader push to strengthen digital connectivity and bridge the digital divide, particularly during periods of economic and social challenges.

Converge shares on Wednesday slipped P0.04, or 0.33 percent, to close at P12.16 each.
