
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami raised concern over the arrest of a cook from the hill state in connection with the deadly blaze in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar that claimed 22 lives including 13 foreign nationals.
In a post on X the Dhami tagged Delhi Cm Rekha Gupta and wrote, “Today, a discussion was held with the Chief Minister of Delhi, regarding the arrest of Shri Keshav Negi from Uttarakhand in the Malviya Nagar fire incident case in Delhi.”
“Rekha Gupta ji has assured that no injustice will be allowed to any innocent person, and the investigation will be conducted entirely on the basis of facts and evidence. There is full confidence that the Delhi government and the concerned agencies will bring out the truth through an impartial investigation,” he mentioned.
Dhami further mentioned that a conversation was also held with Keshav Negi’s daughter, Kanishka Negi, assuring her of every possible assistance.
“Our government stands shoulder to shoulder with all migrant Uttarakhandi brothers and sisters living across the country,” said the CM.
Replying to this, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that investigation into this matter is being conducted with complete impartiality, transparency, and in accordance with due legal process.

Death in the Malviya Nagar fire reached 22 as of Sunday, one more victim succumbed to the injuries, police said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police on Sunday took arrested hotel cook Keshav Negi to the site of the devastating Malviya Nagar fire as part of efforts to reconstruct the sequence of events that led to one of the deadliest fire tragedies in the area.
Negi, who worked as a cook at Flourish Stay B&B, was arrested after the fire broke out on June 3, killing 21 people, including 13 foreign nationals, and injuring 28 others.
