SHAH ALAM: Police crippled five syndicates and seized drugs with an estimated street value of RM7.94 million in several raids conducted earlier this month in the Klang Valley.
The authorities also arrested 16 individuals, aged between 18 and 61, Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said.
“The narcotics crime investigation department (NCID) seized heroin, methamphetamine, cannabis, Erimin-5 pills and ketamine,” he said at a press conference here.
They also seized RM5,385 in cash and other assets, including 12 vehicles, belonging to the five syndicates.

Read more Of the five syndicates, Hussein said four were involved in trafficking drugs, while the fifth syndicate was involved in processing drugs.
“These syndicates, which have been active since the beginning of the year, were processing and trafficking drugs for local markets, especially around the Klang Valley.”
Hussein said the amount of drugs seized was sufficient for 2,823,074 addicts.
