
SANDAKAN: The police are looking for a 57-year-old male witness to assist in a rape incident involving a minor.
The head of the district police, ACP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said, the rape incident occurred on April 7, 2023, at approximately 2am in a rented house in the Sandakan district.
“The witness of the incident named Tang Kiok Nguan, aged 57, was asked to appear to assist the investigation.
“Members of the public with information about the witness can contact Criminal Investigation Officer, Inspector Vannesa Wong on 0194822582,” he said in a press conference in Sandakan.
Meanwhile, in other developments, Fuad advised members of the public who want to leave their homes in conjunction with the festive season to report their absence at home to facilitate the police to carry out periodic patrols.
“Civilians who want to return to their villages can report their absence by filling in a form at the nearest police station or calling the IPD Sandakan hotline,” he added.
In addition, Abdul Fuad also advised the public to be smart in doing online transactions to avoid being cheated and incurring losses.
He also welcomed any information about crimes happening around the area.
