Coronation Street icon Bill Roache to be honoured with special tribute programme

  • Bill Roache, 94, who has portrayed Ken Barlow on Coronation Street since its debut in 1960, is set to be honoured with a dedicated spin-off tribute programme.
  • The one-off special, with the working title Bill Roache: Life on the Street, is anticipated to air later this year or in early 2027, according to The Sun.
  • Roache holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving TV star in a continuous role, a record he has extended every year since 2010.
  • The programme is being made by Manchester-based production company MultiStory, which is owned by ITV.
  • Roache has been awarded an MBE in 2001 and an OBE in 2022, alongside a British Soap Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
