One of Coronation Street’s most well-known cast members shed a tear as she bid farewell to the soap after 50 years on screen.
Helen Worth, who plays Gail Platt, said goodbye to the cobbled streets of the ITV show in its Christmas special on Wednesday.
She delivered her final lines surrounded by her fictional family members in the Platt living room.
Worth told her fellow cast members: “The reason I’ve been here all these years... is because of all you people.
“I couldn’t have done any of it without you.”
