KOTA KINABALU: The Coroner’s Court is considering whether to allow media coverage of child testimonies in the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
Lawyer Datuk Ram Singh told reporters on Wednesday that the issue was raised during proceedings held in camera for the testimony of the second child witness.
According to him, Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan acknowledged receiving public queries and concerns, given the high-profile nature of the case.
“The public wants to know the whole story; otherwise, they are left in the dark,” Ram said.
He added that a set of guidelines for journalists is expected to be introduced once consent is granted.
