  • Costa Rica’s rail institute Incofer and Panama’s National Railway Secretariat have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a regional rail logistics corridor.
  • The agreement aims to enhance regional connectivity, trade, logistics, tourism, and economic integration between the two countries.
  • Panama's proposed 300-mile rail line would connect Panama City to Paso Canoas at the Costa Rican border, featuring 14 planned stations.
  • Separately, private Swedish railway company Snälltåget is launching a new long-distance train service connecting Malmö, Gothenburg, and Oslo.
  • This direct daytime service, starting on 15 June, will offer a six-and-a-half-hour journey across Sweden's west coast into Norway.
