LAHAD DATU: Lahad Datu Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Division Chief Ahmad Ali Akhbar Khan Gulam said the increase in diesel prices in the peninsula clearly has implications for Sabah despite the State being spared.

“This will surely add to the burden on the people who now have to bear high daily expenses. The situation will get worse if affected traders raise prices to offset profits and operating costs.

“The question is, what is the State Government’s stance on this? Even though the Federal Government has stressed that the prices of essential goods in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will not increase due to the implementation of targeted diesel subsidy in the peninsula,” he said.
