Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 caseload dipped to 135 on Saturday from 154 the day earlier, with Kota Kinabalu recording a 62.5 per cent spike in cases to 91, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“The big rise of cases in Kota Kinabalu is the main factor behind Sabah’s spike in cases, of which nearly 85 per cent were sporadic infections,” he said in a statement.
Masidi said apart from Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Tuaran also recorded double-digit cases, with 15 and 12, respectively.
“A total of 14 districts did not record any new infections in the previous 24 hours. Three districts- Kinabatangan, Keningau and Ranau – were free of infections after recording new cases the day before.
“Lahad Datu, Kuala Penyu, Kudat and Beluran which recorded zero infections previously recorded new cases,” he said.
He added that 152 out of 154 cases were category one and two infections, while two were recorded in category four.
No deaths or new clusters were identified.
