
TAWAU: The Sabah Pesticides and Fertilizers Control Division (BKRPB Sabah) conducted an enforcement operation at Mile 11, Jalan Apas, recently.
Sabah BKRPB Chief Assistant Director, Salmah Labulla, said the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Tawau Traffic Branch.
She said the operation aimed to crack down on the sale of illegal or unregistered pesticides.
“During the inspection, authorities checked two four-wheel drives and a lorry found carrying pesticides.

Read more “The inspection revealed that all the pesticides being transported were registered and accompanied by valid purchase documents,” she said in a statement on Monday.
Salmah said BKRPB Sabah is committed to enforcing the Pesticides Act 1974 to ensure that imported, produced and sold pesticides in the country are of high quality.
“Furthermore, we aim to ensure that the use of pesticides does not pose any threat to consumers, livestock, food crops, or the environment.
“Effective management of pesticides is crucial for sustainable development, considering human safety and environmental well-being,” she said.
