In a series of raids conducted by the Home Ministry, four business owners have been arrested for selling sex toys in Johor, Penang, Perak, and Sarawak. The raids, which began earlier this year and continued until February 6, resulted in the seizure of 2,295 units of sex toys, including dildos and vibrators, worth approximately RM70,000.

Nik Yusaimi Yussof, the secretary of the ministry's enforcement and controls division, revealed that the raids were carried out based on intelligence gathered by the ministry. One of the significant seizures occurred on January 29, when a cosmetics and health store in Masai, Johor Baru, was found to be openly selling sex toys. A total of 2,012 sex toys were seized from the shop and its storeroom, amounting to RM37,350, marking it as the largest seizure of the year so far.

Another raid took place on February 6 at a shopping mall outlet in Bayan Lepas, Penang, where the owner, a woman, was detained, and 102 units of sex toys worth RM15,732 were seized. Simultaneously, in Ipoh, Perak, the ministry detained a male business owner and seized 46 sex toys worth RM6,050 from a shopping mall premises.

In a separate incident on January 18 in Kuching, Sarawak, a woman was detained, and 135 units of sex toys worth RM10,890.50 were seized from a shopping mall outlet. All suspects are in their 30s, and investigation papers have been opened under Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 for "eroding moral values" in each case, as well as under Section 292 of the Penal Code.

Nik Yusaimi emphasized that the ministry would take action against activities that could erode moral values or jeopardize public order and safety. He urged the public to report such illegal activities to the ministry through the hotline 03-8000 8000 or via www.moha.gov.my.
