PETALING JAYA: Controversial comedian, Mohammad Rizal Johan Van Geyzel(pix) was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court, today.

He was slapped with three charges of posting insulting remarks touching on religious and racial sensitivities recently.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty after all charges were read to him before Sessions Court Judge Nor Hasniah Ab Razak.

He was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Rizan is facing a maximum one year imprisonment or RM50,000 fine or both upon conviction.
