I observed beyond operating high-pressure commercial espresso machinery, contemporary barista must master extraction chemistry, sensory analysis, sensory milk techniques, and hospitality management. Professional coffee service requires a good balance of scientific accuracy and artistic consistency.
I understand that the Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association (MSCA) administer the annual Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) to select national competitors. Concurrently, the regional ASEAN Barista Team Championship (ABTC) brings together Southeast Asia teams to test high-intensity workspace speed, and collaborative execution.
