Former Barcelona defender Edgar is said to be involved in a bizarre investigation.
The ex-stopper is said to have sent his twin brother to play for Dinamo Bucharest in February.
Brothers Edward and Edelino both emerged from the Sporting CP youth ranks, with Edgar joining Barca in 2012.
But according to Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu, when Romanian strugglers Dinamo signed Edgar, they believe they got his twin brother instead.
The player only speaks Portuguese and is unable to communicate in English.
However, Edgar has played in several countries and is said to have known how to speak the language.
