A man in Ampang Jaya says his life has been thrown into chaos after a woman he dated nearly three decades ago resurfaced with shocking accusations and relentless harassment.
Xie Wei Ming, 48, recounted that his former girlfriend from 1996 suddenly reappeared in March this year, alleging that he owed her RM1,500 — money she claimed was borrowed long ago to pay for a motorcycle license. According to Xie, the demand quickly spiraled, with the alleged debt later raised to RM3,000 and eventually RM4,000.
What began as repeated text messages soon escalated into a campaign of humiliation. Photos of Xie and his relatives were posted online with edited words like “scammer” and “freeloader” plastered across them. At one point, the harassment took a dark turn when his image was circulated in the form of a fake obituary, which he described as deeply disturbing.
The torment did not stop online. Xie alleged that the woman targeted both his home and his parents’ residence on several occasions. Over the past six months, she is said to have thrown paint and even feces at their properties, with at least five incidents reported. These acts left the family shaken and struggling to cope with the repeated intrusions.
Xie firmly denied ever borrowing money from the woman, stressing that he already possessed his motorcycle license when they first met. He pointed out that both had moved on long ago, each marrying and raising children, before this sudden reappearance turned his life upside down.
The situation grew so severe that Xie and his family sought help from local authorities. With the support of Teratai assemblyman Yew Jia Haur, they held a press conference to publicly appeal for the harassment to end.
Speaking through the event, Xie expressed his desperation for peace, saying his only wish now is for the woman to cease her actions so that his family can return to normalcy.
What began as a long-forgotten relationship has now become a nightmare of intimidation, public shaming, and property vandalism — one that has left a family trapped in fear over claims they maintain were never true.
