Bread pudding is something that we all love, don’t we? Have you ever thought of making it at home? Well, you should consider it as all the ingredients are easily available in your kitchen.
This recipe brings old memories. I remember how much we used to enjoy it! Let’s start now.

Ingredients
- 4 cups of bread (1 or 2 days old preferably, cut it into 1-inch cubes)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 eggs (medium size)
- 2 cups milk
- 90 grams of castor sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- ½ cup raisins (soak in hot water for 10 mins)
- 1.5-litre baking dish
Method
- Take a bowl and add the bread cubes and pour melted butter on it. Keep aside.
- Now take another bowl, beat 3 eggs lightly, then add sugar, milk, vanilla essence and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
- Add bread into the above mixture and mix well.
- Let the bread pudding sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, use a potato masher or fork and mash the bread. At this point, the bread pudding should look smooth and well combined.
- Finally, add raisins and mix well.
- Get your baking dish and brush some butter on it. Now pour the bread pudding and use your spatula to smoothen the surface.
- Bake at 170 Celcius for 40 to 45 minutes. You should get a nice golden colour layer on top. Enjoy this lovely Bread Pudding!
Final thoughts:
- You can serve this bread pudding warm or cold.
- You can use the sides of the bread or cut them off. It’s up to you.
- Other than raisins, you can add sliced pears or apples too.
- This pudding can serve 8 people.
- It is not necessary to serve this bread pudding with a custard sauce as it is delicious by itself.
