  • David Jaffe, creator of the God of War video game franchise, has issued strong criticism of Amazon Prime Video's first-look image of Kratos for its forthcoming live-action adaptation.
  • Jaffe described the image, featuring Ryan Hurst as Kratos with his son Atreus, as 'stupid' and suggested Kratos looked like he was 's***ting in the woods'.
  • He questioned the decision to introduce the lead character in such a manner, despite acknowledging it might be an attempt to focus on the father-son dynamic.
  • While lambasting the image as 'terrible', Jaffe clarified that he believes the series itself will be good, praising showrunner Ron Moore as 'awesome' and 'talented'.
  • The Amazon series, currently in production, will follow Kratos and Atreus on a journey to spread their wife and mother's ashes, with Kratos aiming to teach his son to be a better god and Atreus teaching his father to be a better human.
