Kota Kinabalu: A day after a video of a crocodile swimming beneath a jetty went viral on social media, another clip of crocodile sightings was captured on camera on Thursday.
There are speculations that the first clip was taken under a jetty at Jesselton Point. The Sabah Wildlife Department is investigating whether the viral video originated in Sabah.
The latest clip showed a crocodile approaching the shore, clenching its jaws onto something on the sand, and then swimming back out to sea.
Some claimed the clip was taken in Pantai Sahabat in Lahad Datu. Other day it was at Tg Aru. However, as at press time, the precise location was still unknown.
A week ago, a crocodile attacked a man and his three-year-old child in Lahad Datu, leaving the man seriously injured while the child has yet to be found.
Crocodile sightings have been recorded in Lahad Datu’s Felda Sahabat 16 beach area in June this year. In that incident, a crocodile was seen going up the beach and attacking a dog.
