LAHAD DATU: A 17-foot long crocodile was caught after being trapped in a fisherman’s net at Sungai Nipah Tambisan, here, on Thursday.

The reptile was later handled by Desa Kencana Civil Defence Force to the Wildlife Department for further action.

Lahad Datu Wildlife Department Officer Silvester Saimin said they received the crocodile, which was brought to the Wildlife Department by the Civil Defence Force, on Friday.

“We have loosened the rope that tied the crocodile. However, the crocodile is in a frail condition and taken to Wildlife Department’s quarters for further action,” he added.
