Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch says the Premier League should be played this weekend.
All football in England has been postponed after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Manchester United's Europa League group stage game against Real Sociedad went ahead at Old Trafford last night and the players wore black armbands, while a minutes silence was also observed before kick-off.
Crouch has suggested such gestures would be a better send off for the nation's longest-serving monarch.
He shared in a tweet: "I know it's only a game and some things are much bigger but imagine all our games went ahead this weekend. Black armbands, silences observed, national anthem, Royal band playing etc to the millions around the world watching? Isn't that a better send off?"
