- President Donald Trump acknowledged the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s death during an address at the first-ever Republican midterm convention on Wednesday night.
- Convention attendees broke out into chants of “Charlie! Charlie!” in honor of the slain activist, who was shot and killed on Sept. 10, 2025 while giving a speech at Utah Valley University.
- “What shocked millions of Americans was not only the fact that Charlie was murdered, as bad as it was, but also how many people made an excuse for it or cheered for it,” Trump said Wednesday night.
- He also singled out Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, who was seated next to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at the convention.
- Turning Point USA, which Charlie Kirk founded, is returning to the site of his murder Thursday for a memorial event which the university shut down campus for.
