KENINGAU: Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister Datuk Arthur Kurup said participation of early learning institutions to motivate the interest of children in science and innovation is indeed a must now.

Hence, he urged concerned parties to act responsibly to pave the way for Malaysia to achieve its desire to be among the top 20 countries in the world in the field of economy.

To reach the noble aspiration, the Minister stressed that big changes, readiness, and development of human capital, and spending amongst others are needed.

“One of the ways to hit the target is to cultivate an interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at early learning centres like Tabika Kemal,” Arthur said during the schools’ appreciation ceremony in Pensiangan recently.

Some 291 students from Tabika Kemas in Sook, Tulid, and Nabawan celebrated the event.

Arthur said he wants parents to also work with schools to conduct related activities for obvious reason.

“Without cooperation and support from all parties concerned particularly parents and guardians the noble intended programme will not achieve its goals and objectives,” he said.
