
- A Spanish passenger, evacuated from a cruise ship at the centre of a hantavirus outbreak, has tested positive for the virus.
- The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 11 cases of hantavirus, all linked to the MV Hondius cruise ship.
- Among the confirmed cases, three individuals, who were passengers or crew from the MV Hondius, have died.
- Nine of the 11 confirmed cases have been identified as the Andes virus.
- The infected Spanish passenger was quarantined in a military hospital in Madrid, where 13 other Spanish nationals evacuated from the ship tested negative.
