Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is confident the goals will arrive for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Vieira is full of praise for his centre-forward's contribution.

The manager said: It is what we need at the moment. I think JP, with his work ethic on the field, the way the team are defending, especially from up-front, allowed us to be more solid at the back. He brings us his physicality and his energy, and his work out of possession has been fantastic for the team.

It's just about confidence and of course with strikers, when you don't score, you start to doubt yourself, but the message has been clear to him and to the other strikers: there is no doubt in my mind about the quality of the players we have.

Another day, of course, with a bit of luck we will score those goals, but it is important to keep working, and to keep practising in training to allow him to rebuild this kind of belief but I'm happy with what he's given to the team the last three games.".
