Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has been sanctioned in Brazil.

As owner of Botafogo, he accused the Brazilian championship of match-fixing and corruption. During his team's game against Palmeiras in 2023, he pointed the finger at the leaders of the Brazilian Serie A.

The American has been sanctioned for these comments.

Indeed, Globo states he has been fined by the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), and was suspended for 45 days. But because he had already served part of his sentence last year, Textor will actually be suspended for 17 days. Textor will not be able to appeal.
