Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure says he was able to settle quickly in London.

Doucouré joined Palace from Lens and is surrounded by French-speaking teammates and staff, including the manager.

Speaking with Palace TV, Doucouré said: “My adaptation went really well. I already lived great moments with the squad. Everything goes well at training with the coach, we talk a lot together. I just feel good, I just have to keep working to keep doing good games and help the team win again.

“It's not the same [as living in Lens]. London is such a big city and Lens is small, there are not many people living there. I just have to keep being myself and keep doing what I used to do in Lens... but no the rest of the time I stay home, resting."

Palace teammate Odsonne Edouard also revealed: “He's a French guy so I had to take him under my wing. I introduced him to the team and to the people in the club. He's a guy with who it's easy to live every day. All the players and all the staff like him so it's great for us and for the team because he's a great player.

“He helps a lot in dominating the midfield so the adaptation also worked on the pitch... He's a very good player so it's been really easy with everyone. However he still needs to improve his English but... we practice, we practice, so it's going to come. He's a great fella so things are easy with him."
