Sometimes, customers are charged more for an iced beverage without ice. This is because the volume of the drinks is more without ice, but how much are you willing to pay for the additional charge?

A Malaysian customer in JB recently revealed that he was charged not only RM3 for no ice in his fruit juices but also an additional RM3 for no sugar.

Based on the receipt shared on his FB, he had ordered 2 fruit juices and a grilled chicken, which cost him RM12.90, and RM22.90 respectively. In what should’ve been only RM26.8 for the beverages, the price escalated to RM37.8 thanks to the additional charges for no ice and no sugar.

In total, the bill was RM66.8, including the tax.

The man shared the incident on a FB post, but, did not reveal the location of the restaurant. However, he was baffled by the extra charges.

“I don’t get it. Why was I charged RM6 in total for no ice, and for no sugar? Can anyone explain this logic to me?”

To all food operators, are these charges common in the industry, as customers, do you find this acceptable?
