
PETALING JAYA: Anis Rizana Zainudin has been appointed as the new director-general of the customs department, making her the first woman to be appointed to the post.
Her appointment is with immediate effect, chief secretary to the government Zuki Ali said in a statement.
Anis, 54, succeeds Zazuli Johan, who was appointed in July last year and served in the position until his retirement recently.
Zuki said Anis had served in the civil service for 29 years with the finance ministry.
