THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) said it continues to post strong revenue gains in 2026, with multiple collection districts across the country surpassing their targets from January to April.
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno noted the positive result is the product of the discipline and dedication of customs personnel.
This comes as the Marcos administration intensifies efforts to strengthen government revenue generation and accelerate economic growth through more efficient trade and customs operations.
The BOC said several major ports exceeded their cumulative revenue goals during the first four months of 2026, reflecting sustained operational efficiency and stronger collection mechanisms nationwide.
Leading the list was the Manila International Container Port, which generated P78.994 billion in revenues, reaffirming its status as the country’s top-performing customs collection district.
Other ports that exceeded their January-to-April targets included the Port of Davao with P17.730 billion; the Port of Cebu, which posted P16.473 billion; the Port of Cagayan de Oro, which generated P15.750 billion; the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with P16.292 billion; the Port of Subic with P19.683 billion; the Port of Clark with P1.822 billion; and the Port of Tacloban with P1.766 billion.
Smaller but high-performing collection districts also posted significant gains, including the Port of Iloilo with P1.447 billion, the Port of Legazpi with P1.232 billion, the Port of Aparri, P592 million, and the Port of Surigao, P335 million.
“The accomplishments we are seeing today are the result of the hard work, discipline, and sacrifices of our men and women in all 17 ports across the country. I extend my sincerest gratitude to every customs personnel who continues to serve with integrity and dedication despite the challenges of the job,” Nepomuceno said.
The Customs chief congratulated the collection districts that exceeded their goals, saying their achievements serve as inspiration for the entire bureau to further improve performance and strengthen public service.
He emphasized that every port, regardless of collection size, plays a crucial role in nation-building and in helping the government fund vital programs and infrastructure projects for the Filipino people.
Nepomuceno urged all collection districts to sustain their momentum by strengthening collection efficiency, lawful trade facilitation, and institutional reforms under the bureau’s Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization agenda, which aims to improve transparency, modernize customs systems, and enhance public service delivery in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s economic development agenda.
