Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Women’s Association (Pewasa) is committed to empowering women through various training programmes.
Its President, Anne Sidik, said in an effort to achieve that goal, she organised a seminar aimed at giving exposure to women on cyber security issues in addition to courses in social, economic, legal and educational skills.
“Pewasa also works with the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) and Sabah Department of Women’s Affairs (Jhewa) to deal with the problems faced by women, especially teenagers and rural women,” she said after paying a courtesy call on the Head of State’s wife, Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni at Istana Seri Kinabalu, on Thursday.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the new committee members as well as express her gratitude to Norlidah’s willingness to attend the opening of Pewasa’s 45th anniversary celebration and the State-level Women’s Day celebration on February 25.
Also present were Vice President of Pewasa, Datuk Surinam Sadikun and its Assistant Secretary, Juriffah Safflie.
